
Badar Al Raisi is the Head of Internal Audit at Oman Housing Bank, where he leads the Bank’s independent assurance function. Reporting directly to the Audit Committee of the Board, he is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Bank’s risk management, internal control, and governance frameworks. Under his direction, the internal audit function plays a key role in strengthening operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and institutional accountability.
Al Raisi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Ajman University and brings over 18 years of experience in the financial services sector. He has held senior internal audit roles at Bank Muscat, HSBC Oman, Bank Dhofar, National Bank of Oman, and Alizz Islamic Bank. His audit portfolio spans both conventional and Islamic banking, covering credit, treasury, operations, technology, and Sharia-compliant practices. He began his career in Trade Finance at Oman Arab Bank, gaining early exposure to international banking and transactional risk.
Throughout his career, Al Raisi has driven strategic improvements in audit delivery, focusing on embedding risk-based methodologies, enhancing audit insights, and aligning assurance activities with business priorities. His leadership has supported the evolution of internal audit into a proactive, value-generating function that contributes to the Bank’s long-term resilience and performance.
