Under the patronage of H.E. Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and in the presence of Mr. Moosa bin Masoud Al Jadeedi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Housing Bank, along with several Excellencies and dignitaries from the region, Oman Housing Bank inaugurated its Sohar branch after a comprehensive restructuring and development to align with the latest advancements in the banking sector. The branch will now deliver services using the most modern banking systems in place. This inauguration marks a key step in the Bank’s strategy to enhance the quality of its banking services and simplify procedures for citizens, building on its long-standing track record of providing housing finance across various governorates of the Sultanate. Similar restructuring has also been carried out for the branches in Sur, Khasab, Rustaq, and Nizwa.
Mr. Moosa bin Masoud Al Jadeedi, CEO of Oman Housing Bank, stated that since the establishment of the Sohar branch and up to the end of last year, the Bank has provided housing loans in North Al Batinah Governorate, with a total value exceeding 190 million, amounting to 6,788 housing loans. He added that during the past year, the Governorate recorded a 13% increase in the value of housing loans granted, reaching over 19 million compared to the previous year. This reflects the growing demand for the financing solutions provided by the Bank and their positive impact on supporting the housing sector and stimulating economic activity.
He further noted: “North Al Batinah Governorate holds significant economic and social importance, and Oman Housing Bank plays a vital role in supporting its development journey by providing financing that enables citizens to own or improve their homes. The importance of these loans extends beyond the individual benefits for recipients, stimulating economic activity in various sectors linked to construction, building materials, and job creation, thereby helping to drive economic growth both in the Governorate and across the Sultanate.
From a social perspective, enabling citizens to obtain suitable housing contributes to enhancing family and social stability—an objective we always strive to achieve. Today, with the restructuring of the Sohar branch and equipping it with the latest banking systems, we aim to deliver a more efficient and faster service experience, within a modern work environment that meets our clients’ expectations and keeps pace with their aspirations. We remain committed to continuing our development journey, guided by a clear vision and active partnerships with various stakeholders to serve citizens and promote development across all governorates of the Sultanate. Furthermore, these financing solutions contribute to family stability and improve the quality of life for citizens, which is among our top priorities. Providing these loans is also aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes the importance of enabling citizens to obtain adequate housing and enhancing quality of life.”
This inauguration reaffirms Oman Housing Bank’s commitment to expanding its services and improving its banking infrastructure, thereby strengthening its role as a key driver in supporting the housing sector and fostering social and economic development in the country.
